Paediatric Department

About

The Department of Pediatrics was established in SBHGMC, Dhule in 1989. It is situated in North Maharashtra at the border of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. So patients from all over these areas come here.  Since then, the Department has advanced in high quality patient care and management-catering to over 15000 outdoor patients and more than 4500 indoor patients every year.

This hospital is a tertiary care center in the Sickle Cell belt of India nestled in the vicinity of Satpuda Ranges which is home to several tribes, hence a lot of patients suffering from sickle cell and other hemolytic disorders come here for diagnosis and treatment. Special Vaccines, blood transfusion, Tab Deferasirox, Cap Hydroxyurea are provided to them free of cost as per guidelines of National Health Mission.

All National Health Programs including Newer National Programs are implemented by the Department. Since April 2023 we have initiated newborn screening for Sickle Cell Disease, Congenital Hypothyroidism & Congenital Adrenal Hyperplesia. Facilities of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Aarogya Yojana, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission etc. are actively extended to eligible beneficiaries by the Department.

This Department has established high standards in Pediatric Medicine with its intensive academic curriculum and prompt patient care with Pediatric EMS, Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU and  a round the clock team of Pediatricians and trained Nursing staff.
