Department of Medicine
It’s indeed a great honour and profound commitment to take on the Headship of Medicine Department. The Department was established in 1989 with a vision to be a Center of Excellence for medical care to all stratas of society while extending quality education to the students. It is one of the major clinical department of Shri Bhausaheb Hire Government Medical College. The department has an exemplary team of highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members, which helps in creating an exciting academic and research oriented environment. We orient our students to accomplish their roles as clinicians in the society, make them realize their responsibilities and approach towards patients. The department has 150 beds & 10 bedded Intensive Care Unit which is well equipped with latest state of art equipment for providing uninterrupted and benevolent care for patients. We have outdoor patient load of about 350-500 and around 50-100 indoor patients daily and provide 24x7 emergency services. Our continual endeavour is to inculcate core values of medical profession viz; Compassion, Empathy, Commitment, Prudence, Fortitude etc. in the young minds. We synergize their energy in right perspective to make them successful and ideal Physician. During my tenure as HOD of Medicine, I will work closely with my team to achieve par excellence in teaching and educational research and simultaneously bringing-in disruptive innovations in patient care and management.
