The LuSi, the Neonatal Lung Simulator, is the world’s first autonomous and advanced baby lung simulator that employs real-time artificial intelligence. It is designed to train clinicians in evaluating pulmonary function and assessing treatment efficacy without the need for operator intervention. LuSi can simulate various neonatal pathologies, including Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS), lung collapse, weak muscular activity, pneumothorax, and airway obstruction. The simulator’s models are grounded in scientific literature, such as the study by Latzin et al. on lung volume, breathing patterns, and ventilation inhomogeneity in both preterm and term infants.

This innovative simulator significantly enhances training for healthcare professionals in a realistic and interactive environment. Undergraduates and postgraduates students are trained over this LuSi Lung Simulator regarding various neonatal lung conditions.
