Department of ophthalmology
Introduction

1)Department was established 1989
2)Started in civil hospital and shifted to chakkarbardi, dhu|e
3)Department has one working unit and serves to the large no. of patient inflow from,western Maharashtra and nearby tribal area .
4)Daily average OPD ranges from 100-150 with admission 15-20 and OT of 10-15.
5)Department is engaged in treatment of almost all types of speciality of
ophthalmic conditions. Most of the superspeciality treatment given like
Cataract,Glaucoma ,OcuIoplasty,Cornea,Paediatric ophthalmology etc.
6)Department has a functioning Eye bank for eye donation and keratoplasty.
7)Department is well equipped with finest of available equipment in OT as well as OPD.

 

 

Mission

1) aim is to impart a quality education to inculcate good clinical skills and research aspects in UG & PG students.
2) To provide the best possible eye care
3) Part of national programme for control of blindness to reduce the preventable blindness.

Vision 

1) To set a full subspeciality ophthalmic clinics for teaching of U6 & PG students & to serve the community.
2) To reduce the preventable blindness and visual impairment.
3) To educate the society about ocular health.

Objectives

1) Skilled education to UG & PG students
2) To implement NPCB to the fullest extent by performing various outreach diagnostic camps and indoor surgeries.
3) To provide specialityservices to the patients.
4) To perform organ donation awareness to reduce the corneal blindness by eye donation.
5) To perform all sorts of ocular surgeries by establishing the well equiped operation theater.
6) To perform glancoma Awareness programme.
7) To create awareness fregarding riabetic retinopathy in society.
